Love Yourself Before Anyone Else

Is this simple phrase something that has just been sold and passed down from generation to generation? Or is it actually true?  Allow me to give my opinion on it. You've heard of Ne-yo's song titled "Let me love you" (until you learn to love yourself). I'm pretty sure you have.  Well, I think he has the right idea. Love is something that grows, it's not just there and it needs time to grow.  Think of a pregnant woman who is carrying and bonding with that child for 9 months. The baby is growing and so is the love.

Say you hate yourself from a rough childhood or what have you, and along comes this guy.  This guy is a great judge of character, meaning he knows you better than you could.  This guy gives you an idea about yourself, an idea that you couldn't explain on your own. So you grow attached to this guy and he leaves you hanging, he doesn't want to be with you anymore. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Now, you have an idea about who you are, and you take that and run with it, sure it might be hard to get over this guy but in the long run, you'll love yourself more.  All you needed was that one person to help you love yourself.

Of course, this depends on how strong you are, women are built to be strong individuals, it's in their genes. And men have the whole testosterone thing going on, it's pretty easy for a guy to get over a girl than vice versa. Some people just need another person to show them the way. It's much easier to love each other and have less problems if you and your partner love yourselves first, it means less emotional baggage.  But if that is simply not the case, I do believe that the love will be stronger and deeper for the both of you if one person shows the other "How To Love".
